Treaty Flags

Treaty flags are an important symbol of recognition, respect, and reconciliation with the First Nations peoples of Canada. Alberta Flag Shop carries Treaty 6, Treaty 7, Treaty 8, and Treaty 10 flags — representing the treaty territories that cover the majority of Alberta and surrounding regions.

Treaty 6 covers central Alberta and Saskatchewan, home to Cree, Assiniboine, Ojibwe, Nakoda, and Saulteaux Nations. Treaty 7 covers southern Alberta, home to the Blackfoot Confederacy — Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai Nations — as well as the Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda Nations. Treaty 8 covers northern Alberta, northeastern British Columbia, northwestern Saskatchewan, and the southern Northwest Territories, home to Cree, Dene, and Nakoda Nations. Treaty 10 covers northern Saskatchewan and a portion of Alberta, home to Dene and Cree Nations.
